Read all about it below.

How is the price of installing a partition wall composed?

Do you want to install an internal wall or do you want to install a partition wall with a door? When you contact the professional via Zoofy who is going to do this job, the professional will give you an indication of the costs. The professional's price proposal will be based on the following components:

The degree of difficulty of installing the partition wall
The presence or absence of a door
The material of the partition wall
The finishing of the partition wall
The drawing of cables
The degree of difficulty of installing the partition wall

Usually, the installation of a partition wall takes a day, but how much time the professional will eventually spend depends on the circumstances. If there are odd corners in the room or a sloping roof has to be taken into account, the professional will have longer work than if a completely straight partition wall can be installed. Installing a partition wall in an attic space is more work than in a standard (bedroom) room.

The presence or absence of a door

Do you still want to be able to access the newly created space after installing a partition wall or want to reach it via a second door? Then the professional will have to install a frame and a door in the partition wall. Installing a partition wall including a frame and door is naturally more expensive than a partition wall without a door. However, you can opt for the latter option if a narrow opening is sufficient in your situation, for example if you only want things or installations out of sight.

Two types of internal doors

Do you want to install a partition wall with a door? If so, you have two options in terms of doors. A raised door falls over the frame. As a result, a rebated door will block draughts well. Installing a rebated door is also the cheapest option. A rebated door is cheaper than a single-piece door. Moreover, the craftsman from Zoofy spends less time installing an upvc door than an upvc door. A mullion door falls completely inside the frame. Blank doors are more expensive to buy than solid doors. Because the craftsman will also have to fit the door furniture and often polish the door, you will also spend more money on labour.
The starting hourly wage of a carpenter, which you can arrange quickly and easily via Zoofy, is €50 including VAT.

The material of the partition wall

Apart from the degree of difficulty and the presence or absence of a door, the material determines part of the cost. The following options are available:

1. A partition wall made of plaster and wood

A partition wall with a wooden beam construction finished with plasterboard is the cheapest option. If you want to hang something on your new partition wall, for example a shelf, it is advisable to reinforce the construction of the partition wall with OSB boards. The carpenter will charge extra for this.
Special, green, moisture-resistant plasterboards are used for a bathroom partition wall. These are more expensive than ordinary plasterboard.

2. A partition wall with a metal construction

Instead of a wooden construction, a so-called city wall made of metal is often chosen. This can be finished with plaster, green plaster or OSB boards, as above.
Regardless of what material the construction is made of, the professional will install insulation in the cavity of the partition wall. This is usually glass wool, which has fire-resistant properties (30 minutes) in addition to soundproofing.

3. A partition wall made of aerated concrete blocks

The most expensive option for installing a partition wall is with aerated concrete blocks. Whether this is desirable and feasible is best discussed with the professional. On a concrete floor this will not pose any problems, on a wooden floor a rail will have to be installed beforehand on which the aerated concrete blocks can be placed. This type of partition wall is the most expensive option, but it also has the best properties (fireproof, soundproof and moisture-resistant).
