Searching for Zoofy on Google? Go to zoofy.nl and beware of fraudulent websites

Searching for Zoofy on Google? Go to zoofy.nl and beware of fraudulent websites

A leak, no hot water and an urgent need for a tradesperson. You search Google for Zoofy, click an advert and call. But have you actually booked through Zoofy? Check the website address before making an appointment. This helps you avoid accidentally booking with another, potentially unreliable provider.

Zoofy warns consumers about confusion surrounding our name. Documents provided to us mention warmstra.nl and vanheijdeninstallatie.nl in connection with serious complaints. Want to book through Zoofy? Go directly to zoofy.nl.

Searching for Zoofy: who are you actually booking with?

Searching for Zoofy does not mean every result comes from Zoofy. Adverts from other providers may also appear. When water is spreading across your floor or your heating stops working, it is easy to call the wrong number.

A ‘Sponsored’ label does not prove that an advertiser works with Zoofy. Check the website address before clicking or calling. A business name, familiar colour or mention of Zoofy is not enough to establish who is behind an advert.

Google generally allows brand names to be used as advertising keywords. An advert appearing when you search for Zoofy is therefore not automatically misleading.

The problem arises when an advert or website makes you believe you are dealing with Zoofy, for example because it mentions our name, when you are not.

Want to make sure you start on our website? Type zoofy.nl directly into your browser’s address bar.

Which websites are mentioned in the reports?

Documents provided to Zoofy mention the domains warmstra.nl and vanheijdeninstallatie.nl. Statements recorded in the police report describe high bills, poor workmanship and uncertainty about who was carrying out the work.

We name these domains to help you recognise them and check carefully which provider you are contacting. Do not book through these websites if you want to arrange a tradesperson through Zoofy.

The reports date from April 2026. They do not establish who currently controls these websites or whether these providers are currently advertising against the Zoofy brand name. Filing a police report is also not the same as a criminal conviction.

A website displaying a familiar business name does not necessarily belong to that business. Check the company details and the identity of the provider before making an appointment.

Watch out for this website.

Which experiences are described in the police report?

The police report describes several consumer experiences. Two examples appear below.

The quotations are translations of passages from the descriptions in the police report; they are not direct customer testimonials given to Zoofy.

Through vanheijdeninstallatie.nl: payment made, problem unresolved

According to the police report, a consumer received a visit from a technician after making contact through vanheijdeninstallatie.nl. The technician initially tried to sell her a new boiler for €3,500. After she declined, she reportedly still paid €530.

“The technician is inside for ten minutes and the problem has not been resolved.”

Translated from the incident description in the police report dated April 2026.

After contacting Warmstra: advice to replace the boiler

According to the police report, another consumer contacted Warmstra because she had no hot water. The technicians allegedly advised replacing the boiler for €5,000 to €6,000 and taking out a bank loan to cover the cost. The same account states:

“the next day, the boiler was working normally again”

Translated from the summary of the complaint letter in the police report dated April 2026.

These accounts underline the importance of clear business details, costs agreed in advance and checking which provider you are booking with.

Calling directly is not a Zoofy booking

A consumer also contacted our customer service team after experiencing problems with a plumber. She told us she had reported the matter to the police and sought legal assistance.

When we asked about her booking, she explained that she had called the plumber directly. She believed she had found the provider through our website. The messages she shared do not establish exactly how she obtained the telephone number or which advert, if any, she had seen. They also do not establish a connection with the two domains mentioned above.

Her experience shows why it matters to check where you are booking before the appointment. Seeing a search result, viewing a business profile or calling a tradesperson directly does not, by itself, create a booking through Zoofy.

How to recognise our adverts and your Zoofy booking

In our own Google adverts, we often use the wording ‘Officiële website’ (‘Official website’) and a trademark symbol alongside our name.

These help people searching for Zoofy recognise our adverts.

Always check the website address as well. Wording or a symbol alone is not sufficient: these features can also be copied.

  • Start at zoofy.nl. Type the address directly into your browser if you are unsure about a search result.

  • Check your confirmation. If you submitted a job request through Zoofy, check the confirmation and booking details. If you are unsure, ask us to verify whether your request is registered with us.

  • Use the contact details in our messages. A telephone number displayed in a search result does not prove a connection with Zoofy.

  • Pay through Zoofy. Payments for Zoofy bookings go through our platform. Do not pay the tradesperson directly in cash or through a personal payment request.

  • Ask about additional costs before agreeing. Make sure you understand what needs doing and what it will cost before authorising extra work.

Does someone claim to represent Zoofy, but you cannot find a booking? Check with customer service through our website first. You can find more information in our frequently asked questions.

What is Zoofy doing about misleading adverts?

We want you to be able to choose Zoofy without being diverted to another provider by a misleading advert. We are working to have Google block adverts that falsely present themselves as Zoofy.

We distinguish between advertising against a search keyword and misleading people about the advertiser’s identity. Google has rules against confusing trademark use and adverts suggesting a relationship with another business that does not exist. Our aim is for Google to enforce those rules when our name is misused.

We cannot remove other companies’ adverts ourselves or guarantee that every misleading advert will disappear immediately. That is why specific reports help: screenshots, search terms and website addresses make it easier to demonstrate where confusion arises.

Seen a suspicious website or advert? Report it

Have you seen a website or Google advert that falsely suggests it belongs to Zoofy? Or have you had a bad experience with a provider you suspect of fraudulent practices? Report it to our customer service team through zoofy.nl, even if it involves a different business name or domain.

Where possible, send us:

  • A screenshot of the advert, including the advertiser’s name.

  • The full website address.

  • The search terms you used and the date you saw the advert.

  • The telephone number used and a short description of what happened.

  • Any relevant messages, invoices and your Zoofy booking number, if you have one.

Share these details directly with customer service. Do not post personal information or unredacted invoices in public comments.

Your report helps us investigate concerns and raise suspected misuse of our name with Google. It also helps us warn other consumers.

If you arranged a job outside Zoofy, we cannot treat it as a Zoofy booking. You can still report suspected misuse of our name so we can investigate it. Our customer terms and conditions explain how bookings through our platform work.
