Having a bathtub painted usually costs between €175 and €500, depending on the material, the condition of the surface and the desired finish. Materials such as degreaser, sanding materials, primer and water-resistant coating may be added separately.
Painting a bathtub usually takes around 3 to 7 hours. The time depends on cleaning, degreasing, sanding, repairing, masking and the number of coating layers. Due to drying and curing time, the bathtub often cannot be used immediately after the job.
The tradesperson first checks the material of the bathtub and the condition of the existing layer. The bathtub is then thoroughly cleaned, degreased, sanded and repaired where needed. After that, the tradesperson applies a suitable primer and water-resistant coating, so the finish adheres properly and is better protected against moisture and daily use.
