A sliding window is a window that opens by sliding to the left or right. These windows have several advantages over others, such as casement windows and single or double casement windows. Sliding windows are easier to operate and have fewer parts. They also tend to allow for wider installations, allowing contractors to design larger windows for a wider view.
The average cost of replacing a single sash window ranges from €500 to €1,000, with most homeowners paying around €725 to install a regular double glazed aluminium sash window. Installing a small vinyl single pane sash window costs just €450 on average. Installing a large triple steel sliding window of costs on average up to €1,800. The final cost will of course depend on the size, frame material and additional features.

The size of the window is the most important cost factor for installing a sliding window. This table shows common sizes and the average cost.
