Frequently asked questions

Painting cast iron through Zoofy starts from €59 per hour including VAT. For a small job, such as a cast iron radiator, ornament, table base or small railing section, costs are often between €75 and €200. If rust needs to be removed, old paint is peeling or a special metal primer is required, the price can rise to around €175 to €400 or more. The final price depends on the condition of the cast iron, the preparation needed, the number of coats, accessibility and the materials required.

On average, painting cast iron takes around 2 to 5 hours for a smaller job. A radiator, small furniture part or separate cast iron object can often be treated within part of a day. Heavy rust, multiple paint layers, detailed surfaces or drying time between primer and paint can make the job take longer.

The professional first checks the condition of the cast iron and looks for rust, dirt, grease or loose paint. The surface is then cleaned, degreased, sanded or roughened and treated with a suitable metal primer where needed. After that, the paint or lacquer is applied neatly, so the cast iron is well protected and looks smooth again.

Zoofy works with screened professionals who are reviewed by previous customers. You can see who will carry out the job and rely on experience with similar painting and metalwork jobs. This gives you confidence that the professional will work carefully and choose the right approach for cast iron.

The professional remains legally responsible for the work they carry out. If you have questions about maintenance afterwards or notice peeling paint, damage or returning rust, you can contact Zoofy. Zoofy also offers an optional paid warranty package for extra peace of mind.

Zoofy does its best to find a suitable professional for painting your cast iron. Availability depends on your region, the size of the job and the preferred time. If the cast iron first needs extra rust treatment, repair or preparation, the professional can discuss this clearly with you in advance.

You pay exclusively through Zoofy. After the job is completed, you can pay easily and securely using a QR code. Payment by email invoice is also possible. You never pay the professional directly in cash or by card.
