Replacing an awning motor usually costs between €120 and €300 in labour, depending on the type of awning, accessibility and how the motor is fitted inside the tube or cassette. The cost of a new motor, remote control, switch or extra mounting materials is usually added separately. If the awning also needs adjustment or programming, the price may be slightly higher.
Replacing an awning motor usually takes about 2 to 4 hours. For an easily accessible awning with a standard tubular motor, the job can often be completed faster. If the cassette is difficult to open, the awning is mounted at height or the controls need to be paired again, it often takes longer.
The tradesperson first checks the awning, electrical connection, controls and existing motor. The old motor is then safely disconnected and removed, after which the new motor is fitted correctly. Finally, the tradesperson sets the end limits and tests whether the awning opens and closes smoothly, safely and fully.
