EPDM roofing has now proven itself as a premium quality synthetic roofing rubber product for decades. And yet, EPDM, or Ethylene-Propylene-Diene-Monomer, hasn't been around that long at all. In fact, the synthetic rubber has only been around for about 30 years. Inspections of existing EPDM roofs from the early days show that the roofs laid at the time are always still in great condition. In fact, the roofs are in such good condition that it has been determined that the lifespan of EPDM roofing is at least 50 years.

Why choose EPDM roofing?
The reason why EPDM roofing is increasingly chosen for roofs is the large number of advantages that the material brings. We'll mention a few:
Maintenance-free. Roofing made of EPDM requires no maintenance. Should unexpected damage occur, it is easily repaired with a self-adhesive film. If damaged, EPDM material will not tear further. The chance of leakage after a repair is therefore zero.
It lasts for a long time. As far as is known now, since the product has only been around for 30 years, an EPDM roof will last at least 50 years. Of course, the life of the membrane depends on the quality, installation and maintenance of the roof.
Does not crack. With bitumen, due to years of stretching, shrinkage and drying out, cracks eventually appear in the roofing. EPDM roofing rubber does not dry out, so it also does not crack. The material possesses an elasticity of as much as 400%. This elasticity is maintained at temperatures ranging from -35°C to +120°C.
EPDM roofing is walkable. Its elasticity and high resistance to extreme cold and heat make EPDM an extremely stable roofing material. Today, EPDM is used almost exclusively in the construction of roof greenhouses.
Suitable as a substrate for green roofs. EPDM roof rubber is not only waterproof, it is also root resistant. A property that makes it an ideal base for green roofs.
Can be laid over existing roofing. As long as the substrate is flat and bonding with contact adhesive is possible, any existing substrate is suitable for laying EPDM.
