Modern gas stoves require relatively little maintenance and have a fairly realistic flame picture. Because a gas fire is connected to the gas pipe, it can be switched on immediately and you don't need to keep a stock of wood. There is also no need for a flue. This is because the majority of modern gas stoves and gas fires are fitted with a so-called closed combustion system. A chimney with a flue gas duct is no longer necessary. But what are the costs of installing a gas fire and what are the costs of an open fireplace? What else is involved? You can read that below.
Nowadays homes are comfortable and well insulated. With a push of a button or via an app, the temperature can easily be adjusted up or down. So why have an additional heat source such as a fireplace or gas stove installed? The question is rather why not? Both heat sources have their own specific advantages. An open fire increases the atmosphere enormously and you can lose yourself endlessly in the play of the flames. Open fireplaces are available in many designs, so there is always one that fits your interior.
In the event of a power failure, you can still keep the room nice and warm and an open fire is cheaper than a wood-burning stove.
There are different types of fireplaces, such as a gas fire, a wood fire, an open fire and an electric fire.
A gas fire is nothing less than a closed stove (system) that works with gas. Because of the safety glass nothing can happen to it. This makes a gas fire safe to use. A gas fire is also easy to operate. In principle, a gas fire can be placed anywhere in the house. The only thing that has to be done is to change the gas pipe.
An open fire is a fire without glass and is stoked with wood.
Due to the open character of an open fire you experience the crackling flames and the delicious smell of the wood.
An inset fireplace can be placed in the place where there used to be a fireplace.
A built-in fireplace can be placed in any place in the house (provided a flue is available or can be realised).
When you choose an insert or built-in fireplace with a lift door, you kill two birds with one stone. When the lift door is open you have the pleasure of an open fire, when you close the lift door you have the advantages of a wood-burning stove.
Ask the professional, which you can book quickly and easily through Zoofy, for advice and all the possibilities.
If your home does not have a chimney and it is not easy to install one, you could opt for an electric wood-burning stove. Of course, this is less attractive than an open fire or a gas fire.
In addition to various designs, there are also various brands of fireplaces available. Some brands are cheaper to buy than others. Where one brand specialises in gas fires, another brand may be specialised in wood-burning stoves or fireplaces. Other brands are suppliers of both gas fires and fireplaces. One brand is young and modern, the other more traditional.
