Wednesday 14 July 2021

Wasps can sometimes be a nuisance in the summer. Nice is different! Fortunately, there are a number of ways to chase them away and prevent them from doing so. You can find out exactly how in this article!

Preventing wasps

In the summer, it is no superfluous luxury to take a few measures to prevent wasps. Before you realise it, you may find yourself confronted with a wasp nest, which is not easy to remove. But how exactly do you prevent wasps?

First of all, it is important to know that wasps are primarily attracted to sweet substances. It is therefore best to ensure that you do not leave sweets on the table. It is also best to close all your waste bins and containers. Another important way of preventing wasps is to close the seams, cracks and chinks in your home properly. You can use bee cups to seal openings.

Where are wasps found?

Wasps are found in various places. This also applies to wasp nests. They are often found under eaves, in the attic or in sheds and outbuildings. Sometimes wasps also build their nests in cavity walls.

How do you recognise a wasp nest?

Recognising a wasp nest is not that difficult. It has a round shape, greyish colour and is made of paper-like material. The nest is often well hidden, but it is then noticed by the many wasps that fly around it.

Do you suspect that you are dealing with a wasp nest? Then it is best to stay away from it. If the wasps see you as a threat, they will sting you and that can hurt quite badly.
