In need of interior advice?

Wednesday 18 December 2019

Are you looking for interior advice? Does your home get no further than a Xenos styling with thirteen-in-a-dozen tiles on the wall with life mottos like: 'Home is where the heart is'? We all love inspirational, funny or loving quotes. But the bad news is that in Dutch interiors they have become a bit of a housing cliché. The good news? You're really not the only one who could use some interior advice with his home interior. Tiles in your interior or not; interior advice given by interior stylists is booming business.

So. Are you about to move, build or change your interior, but don't know where to start? Or do you want to avoid making bad purchases? Big chance you can benefit from interior advice. At Zoofy we are not averse to some interior advice, whether or not given by an interior stylist. With all of our 4,000 professionals, we help you turn your house into the home of your dreams.

For example, have your new laminate floor laid by a handyman or your walls plastered by our plasterers. Did you get a nice interior advice with colours? Then let our painters paint your walls or let our carpenters make that beautiful custom-made cupboard. Did you get lighting advice as a result of your interior advice? An electrician who helps you with a lighting plan, so that you can create more space and atmosphere in your home. Or maybe you want to tackle the garden as well as the interior? Our gardeners will be happy to help you with a garden design, entirely adapted to your wishes.

But before you get to that point: first some interior advice. In this blog we show you how interior design advice works, we give you tips on how to navigate through the huge amount of interior design advice on offer, we look at which stylist suits your needs and what an interior design advice costs.

Looking for an interior stylist? - How to find the right stylist for you -

We can imagine that you're a bit snowed under by the enormous supply of interior advice, interior advisors and interior stylists. You can limit the flood of information about interior design by looking for someone in your area. Google is always a good place to start when looking at interior design, but look beyond that. Don't forget the social media channels. Instagram in particular is a platform that lends itself well to this. If you have your own Instagram account, you can search for interior hashtags. You will easily find profiles of interior stylists who can provide you with interior design advice. Because Instagram is a beautiful visual platform, you can also use this channel to orientate yourself on what you like about interiors. Based on this, you can get to work creating a mood board, for instance by collecting styles that you like on Instagram. On the basis of this mood board, you can decide which style suits you best. Do you want interior advice for a country style, or perhaps a minimalist or modern style? Once you're done with your orientation, you can start looking at the various possibilities for restyling your interior.

Types of interior advice

When you're done with the orientation, you can look at the kind of interior advice you want. You can opt for home interiors, online interiors or an interior design shop. Below is an overview of the options you can choose from when you go for interior design advice.

A basic oral colour consultation.

With this advice, you get a visit at home, or you visit a home furnishing shop. This advice takes between 1 and 2 hours. After this advice you (or the professional) go to work. You will not receive any furniture or home accessories advice.
An interior design advice with a 2D or 3D floor plan. As with the first option, this advice consists of a verbal or written colour and interior design advice, supplemented by a mood board and a floor plan.
An extensive interior advice with personal shopping.
In this advice, you get a colour and interior design advice, just like in the first and second option. In addition, the interior stylist or interior advisor will work with you on a new design or new purchase of interior and living accessories.

A total interior design.

After an intake interview, the interior advisor or interior stylist presents you with a complete interior design plan. You will receive various layout suggestions in a 2D or 3D floor plan. You will also receive a list of suitable furniture and home accessories and, if necessary, lighting advice. The advisor can assist you with the purchase of new interior options.
