Making your own garden bench - A step-by-step plan
Last year we wrote about how you can make a garden bench from pallets. Making a garden bench is a different kind of cookie. Even though making a garden bench yourself might seem a tad more difficult; It's not. With this step-by-step plan, you'll make it! Of course, if you have two left hands, you can always call in the help of one of our carpenters. But you really don't need an expert for this job. Do you prefer to put your money where your mouth is? You can of course choose not to make a garden bench yourself but to just buy one ready-made. Except that you really are a thief of your own wallet (a decent garden bench costs hundreds or even thousands of euros in the shop). It's true. Making a garden bench yourself will save you a lot of money. With the next recession looming, this is the best choice. And if you have to spend your weekends in quarantine, it's better to spend it wisely, right? With this step-by-step plan making a garden bench + drawing, it will be a piece of cake.
Wooden garden bench making + drawing
If you want to make a wooden garden bench it's handy to have a drawing with it. You can immediately see what size the garden bench is and what size beam goes where. Pretty clear, right? Feel free to use a different size. Before you decide on a different size, perhaps you should take into account any cushions you want to put on it. With the dimensions as they are in the wooden garden bench making + drawing, you can just buy cushions from the Swiss furniture giant ;-) If you are going to use a different size than indicated here, make sure that you make everything proportionally larger or smaller ;-) As you can see, the garden bench consists of two parts. We start by making the right side of the garden bench. And one last tip: if you don't feel like sawing the beams yourself, have them sawn for you at a DIY store.
